Terms of Service
Last updated: September 14, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Plug-Yangu ("Platform"), including our website, Android app, and related services. By registering or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Plug-Yangu is a marketplace that helps clients discover services, properties, schools, and verified providers, and helps providers receive job requests, manage listings, and get paid. We are a technology platform — we are not the direct employer of providers and we do not guarantee the outcome of any job or listing transaction.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- Provider accounts may require identity or business verification before listings are enabled.
3. Accounts and portals
- Some users may access both client and provider portals from one account where enabled.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
4. Client use
- Search, request, and book services in good faith.
- Pay applicable connection or service fees using your wallet or other methods we support.
- Communicate respectfully with providers through in-app channels where available.
- Do not misuse location features, submit false reports, or attempt to bypass platform fees by off-platform deals where prohibited.
5. Provider use
- Provide accurate service descriptions, pricing, availability, and listing details.
- Upload truthful verification documents and maintain valid licences where required by law.
- Honour accepted jobs, update job status honestly (including arrival and completion), and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Comply with applicable professional, licensing, and tax obligations in Kenya.
6. Listings and user content
You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, descriptions, messages). You grant Plug-Yangu a licence to host, display, and promote that content on the Platform. You must not post unlawful, misleading, infringing, or harmful content. We may remove or reject listings that violate policy or law.
7. Fees, wallet, and M-Pesa
- Published fees (connection fees, acceptance fees, and similar) are shown on the Platform and may change with notice where required.
- Wallet top-ups are processed via M-Pesa STK Push. Wallet credit is for platform fees only. In-app withdrawals are not available — contact support if you want to withdraw leftover credit.
- You are responsible for ensuring your M-Pesa phone number is correct and registered in your name where required.
- Disputes about completed or failed M-Pesa transactions should be reported promptly with the transaction reference.
8. Cancellations and disputes
Cancellation rules and any applicable fees depend on the service type and status of the job. Disputes may be raised through the Platform; we may review evidence from both parties and apply policy in good faith. Our decision in platform disputes does not prevent you from pursuing remedies under applicable law.
9. Reviews and ratings
Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are abusive, fraudulent, or violate policy.
10. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, impersonation, harassment, or discrimination.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with Platform security.
- Uploading malware or attempting unauthorized access to other accounts.
- Using the Platform for illegal services or content.
11. Third-party services
The Platform integrates third-party services (for example Google Sign-In, M-Pesa, maps, push notifications, and optional voice calling). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services offered by providers, or the truthfulness of listings. You use the Platform at your own risk.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plug-Yangu and its officers, employees, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or KES 10,000, whichever is greater, unless a higher minimum is required by law.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, legal requirement, or risk to users. Provisions that by nature should survive (fees owed, liability limits, dispute rules) will survive termination.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Courts in Nairobi, Kenya shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules that cannot be waived.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
